Methods of English language teaching
For doing anything methods are most valuable role full fill for lerner.
There are teaching methods
1) Grammar translation method-
This oldest and traditional method of teaching. Particularly in India, this method is used as English is taught as a second language.
2) The Direct method
Learning the second language without the help of other languages.
3) The Audio Lingual method
This method used to improve communicative competence in learner. This method based on linguistic theory and behavioral psychology.
4) Total physical Response method
This method is based on learning through physical activities.
5) Suggestopedia Method
Suggestopedia is an innovative method that promises great effective language learning results.
6) Silent way teaching method
An extensive use of silence is as teaching technique.
1.) Which method appealed you the most from the above-given methods? Give Reasons.
“The Audio Lingual Method I most appealed because this method through teacher can teach easily study topic. Nowadays this method is more useful because with flip learning, youtube, blog and much more. Nowadays many courses are available online, online test. Through these platform teacher can teaching any place so face to face teaching don't matter to using these platforms. Anyway students can learn and if students can not understand so they can ask with help of social media. So these method I most appealed.
2.) Tell something about your favourite method used by your teachers from School till PG. How is their method unique?
If I tell actual thing so when I was studying in primary to high school during most of teachers focused on grammar translation method and also involved these all method which I refer as above. Simply I can tell our teaching methods depended on exam so our exam system is like a game of memorization and it is not just memories but equabal memories everythings so it like bookish knowledge when we used in college level most students feel confused. Now I am studying in PG so here professor use various methods so I most like Audio lingual method. Before I like grammar translation method but now I like various methods for teaching.
3.) Tell something going about the method you didn’t like from School till PG. Give Reasons.
I don’t like silent way teaching method from school but now this method not used in PG. I don’t like silent way method because this method is not good for teaching if students silently listen everything and not allowed students response so this method is not appropriate for teaching.
