Introduction-
Orientalism is a 1978 book by Edward W. Said ,he was was a professor of literature at Columbia University a public intellectual, and a founder of the academic field of post colonial study. His famous post- colonial book is Orientalism. In this book he discusses what is Orientalism and defined the West and the East because most of people have assumed against some of countries so he tried to reveal that assume that present reality for countries. His more focused on post colonial country. Because he believed Britisher colonialism is responsible for most of participantion of most of Empire.
What is Orientalism ?
Orientatlism by Edward said is a conical text of culture studies in which he has challenged the concept of Orientalism or the difference between East and West. For example the Arabs are defined as uncivilized people and Isam is seen as religious of the terrorist..
Orientalism defined as system way it is revolutionized the study of the Middle East and helped to create and shape entire new fields of study such as Post-Colonial theory as well influencing disciplines as diverse as English,History, Anthropology, Political Science and Cultural Studies. According to me Orientalism is studying of assumption and prejudice of people mind after colonial ruling. So it called study as post colonial critic.
In one of his famous Edward interview he gives details of Orientalism book –

He gave two reasons for writing this book one it was an immediate thing, that is to say, the Arab-Israeli War of 1973, which had been preceded by a lot of images and discussions in the media in the popular press about how the Arabs are cowardly and they don't know how to fight and they are always going to beaten because they are not modern.
And second reason his personal life experiences because his born in and live at America at that time Arab image like Terrorist any attack happen on American their people believe Arab is responsible for any attacked so that kind of stereotypes of people mind that why he wrote Orientalism and said how stereotypes people assumption become danger for normal human being for example Arab's country all people may be not Terrist and not responsible for every attacked but people assumption its like more danger than reality.
• Orientatlism and Empire – He said globalised we can say every country has their own history of any country to define as orient we have knowledge of that country without knowledge we cannot give orientation of any country.
• American Orientalism – Edward said defined difference of one notion like French is different from British. He said what is called the Orient.
“I mean the difference between Britain and France on the one hand and the United States on the other, is that Britain and France had colonies in the Orient. I mean they had a long standing relationship and imperial role in a place like India, so that there's a kind of an archive of actual experiences of being in India, of ruling in a country for several hundred years.”
He also mentioned conflict between Israel and Palestine during Arab struggle for their sepreate nation that why they revolt against them but now situation completely change even people have assumed of Arab as terrorist country American television most of portrait Arab terrorist attacked on their country so people have forewhere enemy prejudice of Arab country.

He said history knowledge is most important for having any perspection. He said Palestine history how Arabs struggle behaviour as terrorist because in the 1948 they were homeless so they fight against majority. And Edward described Israel and Palestine history.

How does one co-exist with people whose religions are different, whose traditions and languages are different but who form part of the same community or polity in the national sense? How do we accept difference without violence and hostility?
