The theme of Love and Death in Harry Potter series

Hello Readers,
Here I share my point of view on The theme of Love and Death with reference of research papers and articles.

The theme of Love and Death: How does Harry Potter make use of age old theme of Love of the dead as well as living as protecting armour? How does Harry Potter deal with the concept of Death as something inevitable?
Arguments and Illustration

  • One of arguments of research scholar After thousands of pages of Harry Potter’s story, it is clear now that this has been J. K. Rowling’s theme from the beginning: love, friendship, sacrifice, and eventually life. For it is life that springs out of Harry’s gift of him-self: the life of self-sacrifice, the life that defeats death, the life of ongoing friendship. We can see Harry potter and Deathly hallows part-1 Dobby self sacrifice for his friends and other parts like Harry Potter and Deathly hallows part-2 Harry self-sacrifice but his friendship and love became helpful to defeated death.

Professor Dumbledore, impresses upon Harry that his “ability to love” is “the only protection that can possibly work against the lure of power like Voldemort’s.” Throughout the novel Professor Dumbledore sports Harry Potter throughout the novel even after his death he shown in the last series to give moral sports to Harry because he believes Harry Potter has ability to fight against evil and Harry believe love that's why he never defeated by evil.

  • Love is investigated as the reason behind the choice between good and evil as well as paradoxically both a fortifying as well as a destructive force. Love is become reason for Harry's choice between good and evil because when first time Draco Malfoy asked for friendship he denied him at that movement he selected choice of good friends also.
