Education and Technology

Education and Technology

Hello reader,
Today I want to share my point of view about technology and Education as above my task or thinking activity according to this link Click here

Before I talk about technology and education I want to mention one thing as we know we living in twenty first century it call digital age also even people have blind belief like we can not teach with help of technology because they are believing chalk and talk is best method for education. It is ok if it is only ordinary people belief but here problem is some of teachers also believe technology is harmful for students career. Now how we can say we are living in twenty first century. Now I come to my point of view how technology become helpful in the education. One thing notable if you want to connect with your students so you have use technology and with help of technology you can give various kind of activities to your students and they will also become part of teaching process. And friendly I want to tell you before coming to this department I haven’t ideas of using technology in the education field.

Video- 1 is about changing Paradigms by Ken Robinson.

In this video Robinson give idea about changing education system. He talk about economic and culture there are two dimensions on education system. Most everyone have story like if you work hard you got high scores but only degree score is important without your skill. Robinson talk about three decades 17, 18, 19 century paradigms there education system need industrial revolution. And at last he satire on nowadays education system because nowadays students education system it like factory, there students study and they become factory product. Here I want to add something if students have same class same teachers but even students outcome differ from each student.
I like Robinson ideas of changing paradigms because why we are following the decade to decade old paradigms and why education is not provided with help of technology.

Video-2 and 3 are by Sugata Mitra on SOLE and future learning.

School in the Cloud, a learning lab in India, where children can explore and learn from each other, using resources and mentoring from the cloud. He give idea of SOLE Self Organized Learning Environments.

He also talk about mind threat of examination. He started working on in wall. He hights past education system and now education system how to teach our self. We can not use like collaborate pedagogy – needs to include use of the Internet not for searching for talking in the classroom to each other, teachers need to student world in the classroom. He also gives solution students don’t need meeting but collaborate work allow in the classroom.
Usually current examination system it is only a test of our memory power as well as our writing how we write answer according to questions there we can not write our view also because it may be also wrong according to paper checker.

That’s why Sugata Mitra give new idea of examinations, there need to focus on the internet and collaboration for problem solving and decision making. He gives interesting example of this like which type of answer need to ask in exam most examiners ask write Darwin’s principal? instead of the examiner need to ask why we have five fingers any logic behind it?
Related literature questions to this kind-
How now, Juliet?
When teachers are friends curriculum, pedagogy and examinations can be rolled into one. If students know to how to use technology for education it also happens teacherless classroom like sibercafe you can learn anywhere. It is really happens in online courses there is learning process happen without any teacher.

Video-4 is on use of videos in education

Most tradition method that teachers need in the classroom and some of teachers have argued like maths, geography, science that kind of subjects can not possible to explain with video but Salman Khan broke this belief and give idea to how through the video anyone can learn things in anywhere.
There are various benefits of flip learning for example anyone want to learn at that time they can learn no wait for lecture because sometime it happen students don’t want to learn but they have to sit and listen lecture while we talk about video learning there is person want which time they want to learn so it may be also call free learning method.
Salman Khan share his personal life experience and talk about his academy working method.
I am also join his academy as per my experience it is fantastic to learn anything as like game.

Video-5 Marc Prensky on Digital Native and immigration

Today students are most of use computers, video game, emails, messager etc. Now students become digital natives because their most of hour spend on digital platform.Digital Immigrant instructors, who speak an outdated language, are struggling to teach a population that speaks an entirely new language.

Yes, this really biggest challenge for teachers because most of teachers are not familiar with their students, because here is generation gaps that’s why even nowadays we call it is digital age even teachers don’t want to allow mobile in the classroom. He talk about globalization add this teachers most of use British English but it is not enough because when students
want to communicate other form like American English, African English etc, they can not do it but with help of technology anyone can learn and develop bilingua personality.
