Professor Vishal Bhadani - Translation workshop

My views on "Translation workshop"

                   Dr. Dilip Barad  the head of department of English MKBU had organised a one day workshop on "Translation" study on 1st January,2019. Dr.Vishal Bhadani was invited to us introduce for language translation. Professor Vishal is good translator and also short story writer.



           The workshop was divided in to two sessions. In the first session he talk about his book of  short story collection Fictionalay and he read a few stories in his book and explain it. Here I have note down his stories which he read in workshop.

1) Kamayan
2) Gujarat Express
3) Sansai and Ramjana

           When he read his story at that time I felt that it is really new style of writing short story. Moreover sir talk on how to write short story.

     The second session was related to translation. In that he introduce us about various methods of translation studies. And as we know Vishal Sir himself a good translator, He is doing good job in this field. I really feel glad to say that soon his new translation of Tatvmasi by Dhruv Bhatt going to publish in English under titled 'The piligrimage of Darkness'. Apart from that, He advised us on translation that how one can translate English to Gujarati and Gujarati to English. He tried to aware us about translator as job and its demand in society.


        After his explantion he organised for us
one test to translate Gujarati to English language.


            At last students gave feedback and share their experience to attend the workshop. I feel lucky to attend these workshop because its through I could learn lot of things, So I am thankful to our Professor had organised knowledgeable workshop.
