Screening movie Hamlet



 Screening movie : Kenneth Branagh's  'Hamlet'. Based on William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'.
These are my view on Kenneth Branagh's movie 'Hamlet'.



1) How faithful is the movie to the original play? 


   Hamlet movie like to the original play because I read Hamlet play after I watched movie so l understand betterlly on watching movie. I watched in movie all dialogues match with original play. This movie can't diverse on other way but focus on original play.

2) After watching the movie have your perception about play, characters or situation changed ?


    There are a few changes made in this movie. When I watched movie in one scene on court and courtier behaviour at that time situation also changed before l read this play l can't image this type ritual in court. Then other situation is Ophelia madness at first I read play at that time l can't image Ophelia's madness at this express in movie.


3) Do you feel aesthetic delight while watching the movie ?


    Yes, I feel aesthetic delight while watching this movie. One part in the movie to play within the play. When Hamlet orgenaz 'Mouse trap play' for his douting such Claudius killed his father .At last he succeeded to trap his father killer at that time he expresses his inner thought , he win for his plan at that time l feel aesthetic delight in this play.

4) Do you feel 'Catharsis' while or after watching movie?


Yes , I feel 'Catharsis' while watching movie. In the movie one scene Ophelia's madness at that time l feel Catharsis. Because first of all Hamlet without any punctual reason leave her and her father unfortunately death then she felt aloneness in the world , So she has committed suicite this scene such create Catharsis on Spector mind.

5) Does screening of movie help you in better understanding of the play ?


  Yes, l better understanding play when I watch movie . I understand which type era of at that time. After l watching movie l image which type place , ritual , morality and religious and other thing l feel characters face expressions.

6) Was there any particular scene or moment in the movie that you will cherish lifetime ?


  Yes, I remember one scene start movie on statue it's like Hamlet's father statue and last scene this statue fallen down, So it means empire fell down. I feel revenge is not one person downfall but all connected person downfall ,So this thing I Will cherish lifetime.

 7) If you are director, what changes would you like to make in the remarking of movie on Shakespeare's Hamlet ?


   If I am director this movie so I changes Hamlet character. In this movie Hamlet character present most of rude behaviour with women it only one reason his mother hasty marriage with his uncle , So he jugde all women frality so that he leave Ophelia. If l am director this movie l create Hamlet character can be understand Ophelia's feeling and other thing Hamlet revenge motive on not only thinking but sometimes he take action get down, so he is not face more trouble .


8) What does the fallen statue signifies ?


   In the beginning of movie camera rolls over the statue of king Hamlet out side the Elsinore castle. The movie ends with the similar sequence wherein the statue of the king Hamlet is hammered down to the dust , this scene signifies that revenge is not one person dust but it is all empire dust. Sometimes we feel revenge is no empty boast but at last we feel it is waste of time so revenge nature is not good. It is also compare Hamlet play with Mahabharat in most of action is revengeful so at last nothing get anything .It example image on Mahabharat,

9) While studying the play through movie which approach do you find more applicable to the play ? 


   While studying the play I find feminist and psychological approach. I watched in movie Ophelia's character , she is only pone of his father , his brother , his lover so her character in l find feminist approach . Then I watch  in movie Hamlet monologue listen it is also example of psychological conflict between himself so l find in this scene psychological approach.This is image we can show his behaviour,

10) What of the above mentioned approaches appeals you more than other ? Why ?


  In the movie l appeals psychological approach more other because when Hamlet monologue present most psychological view about life so it is toucheble monologue for me.
