Through the movie Chaplin show Adolf Hitler behaviour when Hitler was leader in German. Chaplin looked a little like Adolf Hitler. But both life were full of different. Chaplin tried to show which kind Hilter became Dictator leader in German. The movie is kind of tragic -comic.
Exploiting that same things Chaplin devised a satire in which the dictator and a Jewish barber from the Ghetto would be mistaken for each other. And direct satire on political leader. In the movie use word Ghetto for Jews living place. Ghetto means For example one community people making rule like they couldn't allow for living who belonging other community it is called Ghetto. But in the something different they may be focusfilly live that type of Ghetto. During movie screening our Professor introduced fascism with example of present time fascism reference. Fascism simple meaning authoritarian and nationalist right-wing system of government and social organisation. So in the movie also shown fascism.
In the movie Chaplin played double role first as barbar and second as Leader. As leader his
name is Hynkel and played Jewish barber role.
Political satire -
When Hynkel meets his neighbour leader Napaloni at that time both leader meeting showing as like comedy. Both are fight each other in sepreat room and they called done meeting. Through this scene Chaplin satire on political leaders which kind their behaviour during present of public and opposite behaviour when they are alone.
Dream symbol :-
Generally dream is most important thing in every human being. Dream is inner disaster of human mind. As per this movie interpretation heroine Hannah who loves ghetto barber , her dream or disaster going to other country because she is suffering lot where her living place, as per above my description Ghetto were exploited by Schultz. So I can say that they were not happy and they want to become freedom from exploition. His last speech -
At the end of movie barber mistakenly coming as role of Hynkel and he give effective speech on stage. Chaplin last speech in the movie, it would be regarded in nowadays people. His last speech -
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then, in the name of democracy, let us use that power; let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfill that promise! Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!
His last speech is inspiring everyone. He explaine what is democracy and give advice free from Dictator. Through the speech he give new hope to people.
