Break, Break, Break poem - Alfred, Lord Tennyson Break, break, break,          On thy cold gray stones, O Sea! And I would that my tongue could utter          The thoughts that arise in me. O, well for the fisherman's boy,        That he shouts with his sister at play! O, well for the sailor lad,          That he sings in his boat on the bay! And the stately ships go on          To their haven under the hill; But O for the touch of a vanish'd hand,         And the sound of a voice that is still! Break, break, break At the foot of thy crags, O Sea! But the tender grace of a day that is dead  Will never come back to me.                    Alfred Lord Tennyson was a great Victorian poet. He was appointed poet Laureate in succession to Wordsworth. Tennyson is best remember...

Image
Poem- Sigh No More, Ladies Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more.      Men were deceivers ever,  One foot in sea, and one on shore,      To one thing constant never.  Then sigh not so, but let them go,      And be you blithe and bonny,  Converting all your sounds of woe      Into hey nonny, nonny.  Sing no more ditties, sing no more      Of dumps so dull and heavy.  The fraud of men was ever so      Since summer first was leafy.  Then sigh not so, but let them go,      And be you blithe and bonny,  Converting all your sounds of woe      Into hey, nonny, nonny. In the end of the play, however, Pippa's faith is rewarded and the evil ones are trapped. The poem 'Pippa's Song' is a fine example of what poetry is and does. It has only eight lines.       At...
